Reflection 1 : Curriculum and Pedagogy

1) What is Curriculum?

A curriculum is the subjects comprising a course of study in a school. Curriculum refers to the means and materials with which students will interact for the purpose of achieving identified educational outcomes. Besides that, curriculum refers to the lessons and academic content that teach in a school, course or a program. The curriculum is important because it help students learn more knowledge and skills. For teacher aspects on curriculum is to involve in the specific learning standards, materials, lessons that will use to teach in a class.

2) What is Pedagogy?
Pedagogy is a method and practice of teaching on the academic subject. It also means how the teaching and learning occurs. Thus, pedagogy also includes research teaching and learning, classroom management, an organization of school and interaction between teacher and student. Other than this, a teacher is also the one who have responsibility for making decisions for what will be learned because  an effective teachers need to have a rich understanding of the subjects they teach. I also learned the important of two myths about teaching. First is a good teaching follow naturally from subject mastery and a good teacher can teach anything at all. It is important to a teacher because it will produce how student learning would be.

3) What is the different of curriculum and pedagogy?
From what I understand the difference between them is curriculum is the lesson or a content of the learning by the teacher to the student and then pedagogy is mean how the learning and teaching occurs. Both of them is related to each other.
